Building a Just Economy:
Insights from Worker Center Leaders

A live virtual event
Tuesday, August 31, 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. eastern
For nearly two decades, worker centers have been at the forefront of rethinking strategies for addressing economic injustice and building worker power. These labor movement organizations have been engines of experimentation in the realms of worker organizing, narrative change, policy development, and labor-standards enforcement. There is much to glean, and celebrate, from their remarkable body of work.

Please join The American Prospect, Ford Foundation, the UIC Center for Urban Economic Development, and Open Society Foundations for this live panel event highlighting the leaders of the worker center movement as we celebrate the 2021 launch of the The Worker Center Library, collecting documents and other resources that offer analysis of the past and future of the workers’ rights movement.

Panel 2: Looking Back to Look Forward: Building Workers’ Collective Power  - 4:16pm eastern
